Red’s Rec Room | Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

The classic suburban “Rec. Room” interpreted with campy humor and nostalgia – in 100,000 square feet

Red’s Rec Room is a 100,000 plus square foot urban entertainment destination created by Strategic Leisure (a team of Disney, Rouse Company and Universal Studios “alumnus.’) for the Brunswick Corporation. Red’s currently exists at the World’s largest mall: the West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta Canada and is performing above its initial projections. Strategic Leisure was retained by Brunswick, a $3 billion NYSE company to develop, turnkey, an entertainment concept to fill a 108,000 square foot former Ikea furniture store.

As with all great entertaining destinations, there is a story behind Red’s, a story that Strategic Leisure created to tie together all the elements of Reds – a top restaurant, Cosmic Bowling, Brunswick quality billiards, a micro brewery, live entertainment, dancing, Red’s merchandise retailing with “Disney quality” theming – the classic “Rec room,” a collection of the “Coolest” of the 50’s and 60’s, uniquely interpreted with wit and nostalgia into a synergistic, over-the-top entertainment destination. Reds is “wired” with $1 million multimedia system, containing an 11′ x 15′ state of the art rear projection primary video screen, 40 additional video monitors and a project-wide sound system. Red’s experiences an attendance of 800,000 to 1 million annually, primarily the 25-44 year old age group looking for moderate price point entertainment experience.

Biegel & Co, LLC was retained as part of the creation and development team.
